Raising Animals & Gardens

Hello my friends, and welcome to Teal Stone Homestead. My name is Tiffany! Together with my husband Jamison, we are creating a sustainable homestead one step at a time while we live in our shed-converted-tiny-house in the countryside of Indiana.

It’s really hard to describe what I do in one title. I’m an artist, a teacher, a videographer, a gardener, a rabbit breeder, a crazy chicken lady, a dog mom, and an eccentric wife to a musician. I enjoy teaching people about animals, especially rabbits, and I firmly believe that with patience and zeal, anyone can become more self-sustainable no matter what stage of life they are in.

Our RabbitS

We are an ARBA registered rabbitry focused on breeding SOP Creme D’Argents. We use our rabbits for meat, fur, show, and breed-preservation. Cremes are currently listed on The Livestock Conservancy’s list as “threatened” and are considered a rare breed. Being a rare breed means culling even harder for quality so that new breeders are set up for success rather than failure. Cremes are generally quite docile and curious. Personally, I find that they have more spirit and personality than most of the larger meat breeds, which is one of the reasons I find them so enjoyable.

We are continually refining our lines to the ARBA’s “Standard of Perfection.”

Fine rabbit breeding is a constant journey chasing perfection.

 Our Birds

Health, hardiness, and temperament are among the top of our priorities when it comes to all of my birds. I breed large fowl Salmon Faverolles and bantam Mille Flour Belgian d’Uccles.

I strive to breed toward the APA’s “Standard of Perfection” as best as I can.

Our Goats

We raise ADGA registered Nigerian Dwarf goats for dairy and meat using a combination of holistic and modern methods. We are still learning about the goats and having fun with them! We hope in 2024 to have our first round of kids and can’t wait to share our adventures with them.
